| Preacher was my first exposure to Garth Ennnis. A fantastic tale of honor, duty, love and regret along with a heaping helping of murder, betrayl, fanaticism and loads of strange and unique characters.
Hitman carries a lot of the same "charm" but is a little more mainstream, existing entirely in the DC Universe. Ennis seems to have a knack for finding artists as well. Neither Dillon (Preacher) or McCrea (Hitman) would be likely to make my top ten favorite artists, unless it was for their respective titles. On their books, they are without peer and the high caliber of these books is easily owed to their storytelling mastery as it is to Ennis'.
